Personal Communication Device/Cell Phone Policy Reminder - AC JH/HS
As we continue to focus on a strong learning environment at Archer City JH/HS and support our Wildcat Rising: The Will to Win culture, we have recently seen an uptick in cell phones being visible and in use during the school day. This serves as a reminder that the expectation has not changed: cell phones should be put away and out of sight at all times during the instructional day. If students need to contact parents, they may utilize the campus phone.
Our goal is not punitive, but to protect instructional time, student focus, and meaningful engagement in the classroom. When phones are visible, they create distractions that impact not only the individual student, but also the overall learning environment.
Moving forward, phones that are seen during the school day will be taken up, and campus discipline procedures will be enforced in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this expectation so that we can maintain a focused, respectful, and high-performing campus where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
