Powerlifters advance to Regional meet
The Archer City Powerlifting team had its last qualifying meet Saturday at The Mean Green Invitational in Iowa Park. The four lifters that competed were Cole Clouse, Colton Carnes, Tyler Johnson, and Scott Buerger. Cole Clouse placed 2nd in the 132 pound division with a total of 830 pounds. Clouse squatted 340, benched 170, and deadlifted 320. Colton Carnes placed 10th in the 181 pound division with a total of 1000 pounds. Carnes squatted 410, benched 210, and deadlifted 380. Tyler Johnson placed 6th in the 198 pound division with a total 1090 pounds. Johnson squatted 430, benched 230, and deadlifted 430 pounds. Scott Buerger placed 3rd in the SHW division with a total of 1110 pounds. Buerger squatted 440, benched 250, and deadlifted 420. The team of four got 8th place out of 19 teams. Lifters Clouse and Buerger have advanced to the regional meet which will be held at Ponder High School March 13th at 9:00 a.m. Wes Hastings was not able to compete because of a knee injury. The team is coached by Blake Crutsinger.
